FBS Students and Families,

We want to thank all our families for their patience as we plan to resume school this fall. Gov. Burgum released the greatly anticipated ND Smart Restart Guidance yesterday. The K-12 Smart Restart guidelines emphasized local control and decision-making by school boards and administrators in consultation with educators, staff, local public health units, and families.

The difficult decisions concerning how to open school safely shall be based on guidance from the North Dakota Department of Health, the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, and other resources.

The ND Smart Restart guidance requires districts to present two plans to the Fessenden-Bowdon School Board for approval, before any student services may be conducted this fall. Both plans will be published on the district’s website after school board approval.

Currently, we are in the Green Phase which allows the District to provide in-person instruction or a hybrid of distance learning and in-person instruction once a health and safety and distance learning plan has been approved.

Our COVID-19 Response team will meet next week to start the process of planning the fall smart restart. To help the team we are asking families to participate in a survey to share your thoughts on several key points. To participate in the survey, please click here: https://forms.gle/Ta8Uz1fCDUN7zLmk8.

Survey responses must be completed by 11:59 pm this Sunday, July 19th.
