Community News

Wells County District Health Unit is re-starting the youth coalition (formerly known as PACT: Preventing Alcohol Consumption in Teens) in the Fessenden high school. Youth in grades 9-12 are invited to fill out an application located outside of the school office. Scholarships will be awarded to youth that actively participate in the coalition (see requirements listed in application). The goal of the coalition is to reduce the number of youth that engage in risky behaviors such as underage drinking, vaping/smoking, and/or using drugs. To achieve this, members of the coalition will educate the community/parents on ways to reduce youth access to substances, engage students in activities and events that promote education/alternatives to using substances, and be a positive peer led group that aims to keep our communities and schools safe.
