Today is Sweats for Scholars, a fundraiser started by FBEA to support the E.S. Killie Scholarship Fund. Each year, this fund provides a scholarship to a Fessenden-Bowdon graduate pursuing education after high school. Staff members who donated to the fund earned the privilege of wearing sweatpants, joggers, t-shirts, or sweatshirts today.

Our school is raising funds for new stage curtains, with a goal of $7,725. These curtains get used in many different ways and will help create a welcoming space for our students to shine during school sporting events, programs, performances, concerts, and special events for years to come!

A Visit from the K-9 Unit!
Our 7–12 students had some special visitors this morning! Corporal Welsh and K-9 Rasco shared about the important work of a K-9 unit and how these teams help law enforcement keep our communities safe.
Rasco is a dual-purpose K-9, which means he is trained to apprehend suspects, search for people, and detect illegal drugs. Students also had the opportunity to ask some great questions, including what happens when a K-9 retires, what types of drugs Rasco can detect, and what breed he is.
Thank you to the McHenry County and Wells County Sheriff’s Departments for taking the time to visit our school and provide this learning opportunity for our students. We appreciate all you do to help keep our schools and communities safe!
Reminder: School Doors Open at 8:00 a.m.
Just a reminder that our school doors will remain locked until 8:00 a.m. each morning. Students who arrive before 8:00 may enter the main entryway and wait there until the doors open.

Our 6th graders have been putting a creative spin on their book reports! Students created visual models based on the books they read and then presented them to their classmates. This is a great way for students to strengthen their reading comprehension while also practicing their presentation and speaking skills.
In Mr. Moe’s Agronomy class, students got their hands dirty while learning about soil! Students collected soil samples and examined different soil textures, giving them an opportunity to apply what they are learning through a hands-on experience.
