We spent two hours exploring, learning, and having hands-on fun and the kids definitely weren’t ready to leave when it was time to go! We even made a TV appearance and snapped a photo with a “celebrity”! 😉 It was a wonderful day full of excitement and learning.

Last week the fourth grade class took a field trip to the North Dakota Heritage Center, where they learned about Pioneer times, Native Americans, ancient atlatls bows and arrows.

Happy Teacher & Staff Appreciation Week!

We are so proud of our students who represented Fessenden-Bowdon at the Keep North Dakota Clean Art Contest Awards Ceremony! The celebration took place yesterday at Gateway to Science. A special congratulations to Rachel, who earned 1st place in the 6th grade category—her artwork will be featured on a billboard along HWY 52! What an incredible accomplishment! We also want to recognize Jillian, Ford, and Harper, who each placed in their age categories. They received cash prizes along with other awards for their creativity and hard work. We are incredibly proud of all four students for representing our school so well. Way to go! 👏

Week in Review!
Kindergarten students have been busy building and exploring different shapes. Hands-on learning at its best!
Our 5th and 6th graders have been diving into Social Studies by researching castles and creating their own models.
2nd grade had an exciting opportunity to Skype with a scientist, asking thoughtful questions and learning from an expert. They also enjoyed taking their math assessment outside in the fresh air!
Pre-K had a special Teddy Bear Day, complete with a picnic—lots of smiles and fun memories!
So many great things happening at Fessenden-Bowdon! 🐝

Congratulations to Slade Stevens and Hanna Widicker for placing and competing in the 68th Know Your State Contest at Bismarck State College.
Mrs. Fortney turned the occasion into a field trip to Bismarck for the Senior class and they packed in a full day.
Thank you to Lieutenant Evan Savageau for giving us a tour of the ND Law Enforcement training academy. Afterwards they were able to get some energy out and enjoy the scenic view at The Mandan Indian Villages site before heading to lunch.
Next, students had a guided tour of the State Capital and learned about the Art Deco Inspiration along with Egyptian highlights and the many different woods and natural materials used in the design. They got to see the House/Senate rooms along with the Supreme Court with its wool lined walls.
After they roamed around the Heritage Center before getting a guided tour of the Old Governor’s Mansion!

Our 4th graders had a great opportunity to learn from an expert with the North Dakota Game and Fish Department!

Gooseneck in Harvey is hosting a Career Night this evening from 6-7pm! They will be making tacos, having hands on stations, and a shop tour! If you have younger students, even middle school aged, they want them and their families to come if possible as well! Target age 16-18, as they could start internships or be employed P/T.

Our FACS students have been hard at work learning sewing skills this week! 🧵✂️
From measuring and cutting fabric to learning how to safely use sewing machines, students are building hands-on skills that take patience, focus, and creativity.
These are real-life skills that students can carry with them for years to come and they’re having fun while learning them!
