Honor Student, Valedictorian & Salutatorian Update 🎓

We want to share an important and exciting update to our Fessenden-Bowdon Student Handbook.

✨ Honor Students
Any graduating senior who earns a 3.5 GPA or higher on a 4.0 scale will be recognized as an Honor Student.
Students who achieve a 4.0 GPA will be recognized as High Honor Students.
These honors are calculated after the first semester of senior year, and include all high school–level courses where credit was awarded starting in 8th grade.

🎓 Valedictorian & Salutatorian
The Valedictorian will be the senior with the highest cumulative GPA (rounded to the nearest hundredth) after first semester of senior year. The Salutatorian will be the senior with the second-highest cumulative GPA (rounded to the nearest hundredth).
In the rare case of an exact GPA tie, co-valedictorians will be named, and the next highest-ranking senior will be named salutatorian.

We are proud of the hard work and dedication our students show every day, and we look forward to celebrating their achievements at graduation! If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out.

Week in Review at Fessenden-Bowdon! This week our theme was Snow, Groundhog Day, and the Olympics, and our students had an amazing time learning and celebrating together! Lower elementary kicked things off with a Parade of Nations, proudly representing countries from around the world as they marched through the halls. Our 5th and 6th graders brought the competition with their very own Olympic events—showing off their skills, sportsmanship, and lots of enthusiasm!

Quarter 3 All-School Event Fun! 💗

Yesterday, our students celebrated Valentine’s Day a little early with a wonderful all-school event! From decorating heart-shaped cookies to reading with buddies, our hallways were full of smiles and sweet moments.

Students also visited a special station to create Valentine cards for residents at our local nursing home, and another station where they enjoyed some fast-paced minute-to-win-it games.

One of the best parts of the day was seeing our older students spend time with our younger learners.

We love days like this that bring everyone together!

🤖 LEGO Robotics Regional Competition Recap! 🤖 Our LEGO Robotics team traveled to Minot State University yesterday to compete in the regional competition! While we didn’t qualify for state this year, the students showed great growth and improved their overall scores from last season. Scores are based on a combination of the robot game, innovation project presentation, robot design, and gracious professionalism, and our students worked hard in all areas. Their teamwork, problem-solving, and perseverance truly stood out. LEGO Robotics is open to students ages 9–14, and this season was a great example of learning, growth, and fun through hands-on STEM experiences. Here’s to a great season and an even brighter one ahead! 👏🎉
