FBS Week in Review
What a fun and busy week at Fessenden-Bowdon School! Here are just a few highlights from around the building:
✨ Our Pre-K students teamed up with Mrs. Fike’s FACS class to create beautiful leaf art projects.
✨ 3rd grade practiced their decoding skills with a fun game called Roll and Read.
✨ Pre-K had a blast with “volcano apples” as part of their science experiments.
✨ In 5th & 6th grade social studies, STEM came to life as students designed and built marble run ziggurats.
✨ 10th graders got creative illustrating language concepts in English class.
✨ And, of course, everyone enjoyed some fresh air and the beautiful fall weather during the week!
We are proud of all the learning, creativity, and teamwork happening in our classrooms.

We are looking for refs for the JH football game on October 14 in Fessenden. Game starts at 5:00pm.

Exciting News: New Chess Club Starting at FBS!
We are thrilled to announce the launch of the FBS Chess Club, open to all students in grades 5 through 12! Whether you’re a beginner or an experienced player, this club is the perfect place to sharpen your skills, challenge your mind, and have fun. Practice will begin the week of November 17th, 2025, and will be held once a week. All experience levels are welcome to join and participate.

To dive deeper into this topic, including particle movement and energy in each state, and also transition into next week's topic which is changes of state, we decided to make some ice cream! We talked about the states that each of the ingredients are in, discussed solubility, solutions, mixtures, and also what happens during freezing and melting. The students enjoyed their ice cream (and Oreos) on the front lawn today to end an already exciting homecoming week!
Yesterday our students enjoyed a beautiful fall day by eating lunch outside on the front lawn of Fessenden-Bowdon School. Tables, chairs, and even the grass became perfect picnic spots while everyone soaked up the sunshine and fresh air.
